I've been doing some reasearch lately on "green tech" like solar panels and putting energy back into the grid to earn a profit from the electric company, and i really really feel like making or buying some solar panels right now. Only problem is they are either expensive or for the DIY kits, labor intensive.
I saw one article where one guy from Oregon put solar panels on his roof and generated enough to null his energy bill, supply 3 neighbors with energy, and earn 50 bucks a month from the excess, but the electric company got angry with him and claimed that his solar panels were blocking sunlight to a rare type of grass (wtf?) on his lawn. So he moved the solar panels up 6 inches.
